1964 Bonanza View Master Set "Flipping the Bird"

This is a frame from a 1964 Bonanza View Master set. The Cartwrights thought it would be funny for all of them to "flip the bird" during this one shot.

Bill Jackson and Dirty Dragon Mall Appearance, Spring of 1969

My first meeting with a childhood idol was at a mall appearance somewhere in the Chicagoland area, Spring of 1969. I don't remember which mall it was, but I do remember having lunch at a Woolworth in the mall.

Woolworth would serve you ice cold water in a cone shaped wax-coated paper cup that rested inside a metal holder. I can remember that metal holder being so cold to the touch that it would hurt. It's strange how certain things stay in your memory.

Seeing this photo brings back many great memories of watching "The B.J. & Dirty Dragon Show".

1969: My Funky Pant Suit and a Historic Moon Landing

Looking at this photo you might think my memory would be about that funky pant suit I'm wearing. But the real memory that immediately comes to mind is about that TV.
I watched the first moon landing back in 1969 on that TV. I can remember sitting on the floor in front of that very TV with my parents sitting behind me in their favorite chairs. All of us watching as Walter Cronkite reported on history being made. Back in 1969 landing on the moon was the kind of stuff fantasy was made of and live TV coverage was rare.

Chicago Kids' Treasured Memory: Cuddly Dudley, that shiny plush stuffed animal

This pic is from October 1965. Me in my pajamas on a sea of pillows, having a choke hold on my Cuddly Dudley stuff toy. If you grew up in the Chicagoland area in the sixties or early seventies, you know just how cool and rare this toy was.
