Welcome to Flashbacks, a place to share your nostalgic memories.
Flashbacks was started by two friends who share a love for pop culture and are ultra geeks when it comes to nostalgia. Together they are building Flashbacks for anyone and everyone to come and share their nostaglic memories and photos. If you are a pop culture uber geek or just have a shoe box full of old photos and memories, please come and share them on Flashbacks.
Come write, share and organize all those personal pop culture memories that are a lasting part of your life. Whether you are a child of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s, we’re sure you have tremendous stories to share.
You don’t have to be a great author or prolific in writing. Just share your memories from your heart as they come back to you.
We are not looking for you to write about the world’s history, this site is about your pop culture memories.
It could be the first time you took the celaphane off a Beatles vinyl LP or that lopsided cupcake you cooked in your Easy Bake oven. Remember the first romantic date at a drive-in movie theatre and what movie was showing? How about the feel of the banana seat on the classic Scwhinn bike you rode to school. That rock concert you went to during spring break and getting that “NIN” tattoo when everyone told you not too.
Pop Culture is all around us. Everytime you watch a movie or TV show, read a book, listen to some music, watch your favorite team play, buy some food, play games and even touching technology.
Try to focus on a single moment and experience with a piece of pop culture that steered your life to the point when you want to write about it now. It can even be a collection of moments, but keep them specific to the chosen pop culture subject. Remember to share your senses, especially touch and smell (the texture of a Matchbox car’s chipped paint and its nostril searing metallic undercarriage.
So just start posting your memories, it’s easy. If you see any mistakes after you post it, you can always go back and make any changes and fixes.
